Saxon Security were asked to provide short term assistance in providing the Match Day Safety Officer at Belle Vue Stadium which we able meet. Following a change in ownership we were invited to put forward proposals to provide all Match Day Safety Staff.
The brief being to provide a flexible and cost-effective service to fully meet all required safety standards and the requirements of the Stadium Safety Certificate. The Directors were seeking a company that would be involved and take ownership of the match day safety operation, an area in which they had no real experience.
With a strong background in sports event safety we were able to put together clear options. In categorising fixtures based on match attendances, crowd behaviour and the Clubs intention to go to ‘all ticket’ fixtures we put forward our Match Day Operations Plan for each fixture showing costs and staffing levels ranging from a minimum requirement for ‘low risk’ games to recommended increased staffing for ‘medium and high risk’ games.
Our operational and cost proposals were accepted by the club. Our Match Day Safety Officers and Operations Manager work closely with Chris Brereton on all match day safety management. Our working relationship having developed to representing them at the Rugby League Ground Safety Officers Association and liaising with the Safety Advisory Group on the Clubs behalf.
We have a strong and ongoing partnership with Wakefield Trinity providing our services to a consistently high level and within planned budgets fully meeting their needs.
